Both news articles and statements from congressional representatives about what China is doing against us across a range of spheres seem to be proliferating.
But few link it all together or seem to realize that we are in a new and dangerous phase of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s campaign to take down America.
See: “Unrestricted Warfare,” by Cols. Quiao Liang and Wang Xianggui
Making a list of these spheres of American institutions that are under attack and then lining them up against the list of what the CCP calls “methods of operation,” therefore, is a useful exercise.
We might begin by quoting from that “manual” on the page immediately preceding the one with the “methods of operation” listed”
“The American military is naturally inadequately prepared to deal with this type of enemy psychologically, in terms of measures, and especially as regards military thinking and the methods of operation derived from this.
“This is because they have never taken into consideration and have even refused to consider means that are contrary to tradition and to select measures of operation other than military means.”
Among the list of close to two dozen “methods of operation” are: diplomatic warfare, conventional warfare, trade warfare, bio-chemical warfare, intelligence warfare, smuggling warfare, drug warfare, and ideological warfare.
Recall that in May 2019 the CCP’s Xinhua News Agency openly declared a “people’s war” against the United States.
Most U.S. media outlets that covered that quickly slotted it into China’s then-ongoing trade war with the U.S.
Few understood that in China’s world view, a “people’s war” is far more than mere tit-for-tat trade sanctions.
A “people’s war” as declared by the Beijing regime means unrestricted warfare.
So, let’s have a look at some of those “measures of operation” as enumerated in 1999, when “Unrestricted Warfare” was published in English.
CCP Diplomatic warfare against the U.S. was never more contemptuously displayed than at the March 2021 Alaska meeting between U.S. Department of State officials and their Chinese counterparts.
The U.S. team was humiliated as Chinese diplomat Yang Jiechi openly mocked U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan.
In August 2020, then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo took the unusual step of closing China’s Houston consulate, citing espionage and intellectual property theft.
What was left out, however, was information that an undercover PLA (People’s Liberation Army) unit used that consulate as a base of operations to stoke racial tensions and street rioting across the U.S. that summer.
Also add China’s “secret police stations” and “special services stations,” none of them diplomatic posts.
Conventional warfare typically means Military warfare. Aggressive, even reckless, behavior by Chinese planes and ships against U.S. and allies in and over the international waters of the South China Sea and Taiwan Strait has escalated notably in recent months.
In May 2023, a Chinese J-16 jet flew directly in front of a U.S. surveillance plane flying in international air space over the South China Sea, forcing the U.S. plane to fly through the Chinese jet’s turbulent wake.
In June 2023, a Chinese navy ship cut sharply across the path of an American navy destroyer in the Taiwan Strait. In August 2023, Chinese and Russian ships conducted joint maneuvers near the coast of Alaska.
The unleashing by the CCP of the SARS-CoV-2 against the U.S. and the world in 2019 was calculated and deliberate.
The sprawling CCP-PLA offensive Biological Weapons program has been openly discussed by senior officials of the Beijing regime for years; “The Secret Speech of Chi Haotian” from 2003 could not have been more explicit about using Biological Warfare (“special means”) to “clean up America.”
The flood of deadly fentanyl pouring across the U.S. southern border is not only intended to addict but to kill Americans. More than 100,000 people died of fentanyl poisoning in FY 2022.
Mixing fentanyl with other counterfeit drugs sold on the internet and the street is increasing the death toll. The latest trend involves fentanyl laced with xylazine (an animal tranquilizer), known as “tranq” on the street.
While fentanyl’s chemical precursors and industrial pill presses may well be known to come from China, the xylazine possibly is being added by the Mexican cartels, who purportedly work closely with Chinese suppliers.
It may well be argued that this is a form pure chemical warfare.
While looking at what’s coming across our southern border, we should also take note of recent reports about young, military-looking Chinese men, perhaps including “Jungle Tigers,” who reportedly are swarming northward from the Darien Gap.
Lastly, we can cite the CCP’s “United Front Work Department” for its coordination of information warfare.
In cooperation with China’s Ministry of State Security, by co-opting senior leadership figures within U.S. academia, government, media/social media, public health, entertainment, and sports arenas (what Peter Schweizer calls “elite capture”), the CCP has succeeded in gaining unprecedented access and influence control over American society.
This is but an overview of China’s people’s war.
Only one category — the military one — actually involves planes and ships.
The rest are taken directly from Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War,” adapted to modern application through Unrestricted Warfare.
This is a full court press and we need a full defense to counter it.
