In this episode of The National Security Alert, Roger Aronoff, the Executive Director and Editor of the Citizens Commission on National Security (CCNS) talks with Capt. Larry Bailey, a 27-year veteran of the Navy SEALs, about his career in the Navy, including stints in Vietnam, Dominican Republic and more, plus his three years when he was Commander of the Naval Special Warfare Center, where all the Navy SEALs are trained.
They also discussed some of Bailey’s post-military activities including the Gathering of Eagles, Special Operations Speaks, and his involvement with both the Citizens Commission on Benghazi and the Citizens Commission on National Security. Other issues include “stolen valor,” people who claimed to have had a military career that turned out not to be true, and wokeness in the military today and how that affects military readiness. Bailey names names and doesn’t hold back.
