I know that right now everyone is focusing on the Mueller Report that was concluded and submitted last week on Friday. I must say, if there was some big smoking gun, we all know that it would have been released and submitted beginning of the week, and not late Friday evening during March Madness. Also, without a doubt, there would have been some leakage of certain items to certain press members in order to fuel the rumors and innuendos that feed a certain political and media narrative. And so, I must ask the question, who are these people who control the information and make the decisions as to what is good, bad, ugly, or evil. Basically, who is deciding what we should know?
This is the primary reason why the Media Research Center exists, to evidence the hypocrisy and bias in our media. And therefore, I am honored to be a Senior Fellow with MRC. But my point of analysis and comparison on the issue of information control is not centered on the Mueller report. No, I want to bring your attention to a story that is above and beyond the understanding of evil, yet is not being reported.
We were heavily inundated with the story of the tragic mosque shootings in Christchurch, New Zealand that left 50 people dead. There is no excuse for this action, and it should be wholeheartedly condemned by all, without any reservation. The fact that anyone would enter a place of worship and murder the congregants is unconscionable, and reprehensible. When anyone across the world is targeted because of their religious faith, we should all stand in unison and ensure that behavior, that deranged mentality, is severely punished. Now, I will critically disagree with the immediate reaction of the New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, who issued a decree banning all semi-automatic firearms. I find that quite interesting, especially since the individual who chased down the mosque attacker did so with a semi-automatic handgun. In the end, it seems that a tragedy was leveraged for a politicized agenda, and there have already been some in America championing the same course of action, enabled by a complicit media.
However, at the same time, there was another mass shooting of people of a certain religious group that has been rather dismissed by major media outlets. As reported by the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) on March 20th:
“The news out of Nigeria is getting progressively worse as it is being reported that more than 300 people were killed in at least seven predominantly Christian villages across Nigeria in February and March this year, according to multiple sources that monitor persecution of Christians.
“‘Since February 10, there have been at least 270 people killed in Kaduna State alone,’ International Christian Concern confirms. ‘It has been reported that at least 70 Christians have been killed during a 10-week span at the beginning of 2019 across the other Middle Belt states.’
“In one early morning attack on the village of Karamai on Feb. 14, sources said 41 people died after 300 gunmen swarmed the village shouting ‘Allahu Akbar!’ as they fired their weapons and ransacked people’s homes, according to Barnabas Fund. It was reported almost all of those killed were women and children along with a few senior residents who were unable to run away.…
“Another 71 people were killed and 28 injured in an attack on the Dogon Noma village by an Islamic group known as the Fulani militia on March 11. The 2018 Global Terrorism Index compiled by the Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP) lists the Fulani among the top terrorist groups in the world. ‘In Nigeria in 2018, there has been a dramatic increase in violence involving Fulani extremists,’ the report states. Those attacks are clearly not letting up in 2019.
“In the recent attack on the Dogon Noma village, the terrorists were ‘torching houses, shooting and hacking down anything that moved,’ according to eyewitnesses. Some estimated that 100 homes were destroyed in the early morning raid.
“Another nine people were reportedly killed and 30 houses destroyed in the village of Nandu Gbok on March 16.…
“The Fulani militia isn’t the only Islamic group terrorizing Christians in Nigeria. Barnabas Fund reports that Boko Haram terrorists recently captured 76 Muslim-background believers who had turned to Christ.…
“Four leaders of the Christians were told to renounce their faith in Jesus and revert to Islam. When the men refused, they were executed in front of their families.”
So, why is it that we have heard little to nothing about this true religious genocide taking place in Nigeria? And this is not something new. Why is it that so much coverage was given to the rampage of a delusional madman, while this systematic killing of Christians goes rather unreported? Who is it that is making the decision what is good, bad, ugly, and in this case, abject evil? Why are we not told about these targeted killings of Christians, and those deemed as apostates by militant Islamists?
Who is deciding what groups are protected classes and therefore determining what information is to be shared with the public?
Here in America, I find it interesting how the progressive media focuses on children of illegal immigrants being separated. Yet, how often do they report on the American families who are permanently separated due to their loved ones being killed by criminal illegal immigrants? That, for these families, is a permanent separation. Or how about the incessant ranting about illegal immigrant children being “torn apart” from their families, if they are actually family members, yet nothing about the heinous practice of late-term dismembering of innocent unborn, and now even death to born, American babies?
I find it seriously hypocritical that the progressive, socialist left has an issue with statues of Civil War Confederate Generals, and yet do not complain about an organization called Planned Parenthood that was founded by a white supremacist, racist, who spoke at Ku Klux Klan rallies, Margaret Sanger. Why is there no outrage about the fact that her vision, which entailed murdering the “weeds” and “undesirables,” black babies, has come to fruition? After all, this organization, Planned Parenthood, founded by a white supremacist, has over 70 percent of its clinics and service locations in minority communities, according to LifeNews.com. And since Roe v. Wade, over 17 million black babies have been murdered in the womb, a true definition of genocide, that is hardly reported.
But what do we hear about from some on the left? Yes, we need to give blacks reparations. Who cares about reparations when the left’s policies of killing born and unborn babies is destroying the future of the black community? This is exactly the vision of Margaret Sanger.
Who is deciding what is good, bad, ugly, and evil? The elites of the progressive, socialist left is, by way of their accomplices in the media. And we need to quickly wise up to this immense propaganda machine that seeks to control not just the flow of information, but the very definition of it.
