Lieutenant Colonel Ken Benway is a co-founder of Special Operations Speaks and Vets in the Fight. He served twenty-seven years on active duty as both a non-commissioned and commissioned officer of Infantry and Special Forces, in command and staff assignments in combat and peace, from detachment to unified command level.

On retiring from the Army in 1993, he served as senior special operations analyst, program manager and corporate director in a variety of contracted support arrangements with the U.S. Army Special Operations community. Lieutenant Colonel Benway is married, with four children and ten grandchildren.
