Last week, there was an interesting exchange on the ABC show, “The View” between hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar. It came in the aftermath of the now infamous Covington Catholic High School media debacle.
The Washington Examiner captured the dialogue, beginning with Ms. Goldberg:
“‘Many people admitted they made snap judgments before these other facts came in,’ Goldberg said. ‘But is it that we just instantly say that’s what it is based on what we see in that moment and then have to walk stuff back when it turns out we’re wrong?
“‘Why is that? Why do we keep making the same mistake?’ Goldberg asked.
“That’s when Joy Behar jumped in: ‘Because we’re desperate to get Trump out of office. That’s why.’
Trying to stay on the subject at hand, a confused Goldberg asked, ‘What does that have to do…?’
“‘I think that’s the reason,’ Behar said, referring to how this fake news story occurred. ‘I think the press jumps the gun a lot because we just, we have so much circumstantial evidence against this guy that we basically are hoping that Cohen’s got the goods and what have you. And so it’s wishful thinking.’”
I am not a fan of Ms. Behar, but as we say down south, even a blind squirrel can sometimes find a nut. In this case, Ms. Behar finally admitted the truth for the progressive, socialist left and their very complicit media accomplices. They will continue to throw the proverbial you know what against the wall, being President Trump, hoping that it will one day stick. This “fake news” story about the so-called racism of the Covington Catholic High School students centered on the visible fact that they were wearing the red “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) hats that are a symbol of President Trump and his 2016 presidential campaign. It was the great desire of the left, and the media, that they had evidence and a means to undermine and destroy not just those young students but relate it all back to President Trump himself. And once again, the progressive, socialist left dropped a hand grenade on themselves.
President Trump may cause us all to grimace with some of his tweets and his inarticulate manner, but there can be no debate about the effectiveness of his policy agenda. But in the end, his greatest political asset may not be his successful policies, which cannot be debated, but rather the overt, abject, and deliberately denigrating pursuits of a biased media.
Ms. Behar’s explanation came not just after the Covington Catholic High School incident, but also right on the heels of the Buzzfeed fake news story about President Trump. And we all remember when Buzzfeed released their tall tale about proof that President Trump ordered his former attorney Michael Cohen to lie. The rants and calls for impeachment were resounding. Once again, the left believed that they had the stink to stick to the wall … this time. Yet, once again, their “wishful thinking,” as Ms. Behar correctly stated, fell abysmally short. But hey, gotta give these leftists an “atta boy.” They just doggone keep going back to their little socialist radical cookbook called “Rules for Radicals” trying to see what little recipe for disaster they can cook up next.
One of their recurring tactics is to try and disparage President Trump, incessantly. This is one of the left’s favorite play calls, as they believe the more they call you names, well, that moniker will stick. As of recently, we have seen a rise in the references of Hitler, Mussolini, Freddie Kruger, and even Tony Soprano – caution, America loved Tony Soprano, hence why HBO is bringing him back in a prequel.
However, what is very disconcerting, and very hypocritical, is that for some odd reason, we never hear the leftist media referring to real tyrants and dictators as, well, tyrants and dictators. Take for instance what is happening in Venezuela: right now, a socialist dictator is killing and imprisoning his own people. Some three million Venezuelans have fled from what was once the most prosperous country in Latin America, until twenty years ago when a socialist dictator named Hugo Chavez stepped in. So, our very biased liberal, progressive, leftist media demonize President Trump, yet hardly say a word about Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro, who is such a swell guy that his people are eating out of garbage cans. Some have no running water and sparse electricity, and on average, they are said to be losing about twenty pounds due to malnourishment … but President Trump is Hitler and Mussolini? Not to mention the fact that Russia, Turkey, Iran, and Cuba have lined up to support Maduro, while President Trump has declared support for the Venezuelan opposition leader. But again, President Trump is Hitler and Mussolini?
The media bias against President Trump is at a fever pitch. The leftist media does not cover any positive economic news, but a drop in the Dow Jones Industrial Average is surefire proof Trump is failing. The leftist media does not cover the corruption in the FBI. Nor do they speak of people such as Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Lisa Paige, Bruce and Nellie Ohr, Christopher Steele, Glenn R. Simpson (head of Fusion GPS). The biased, leftist media say nothing, rather dispels the story about Americans being abandoned to die in a place called Benghazi. The leftist media join in with the progressive, socialist Democratic Party and echoes their talking points, such as the border being a “manufactured crisis,” all the while never giving voice to the families who have lost their loved ones to criminal illegal immigrants.
The leftist, biased media said nothing when Barack Obama sent a late-night unmarked airplane with pallets of laundered cash to Iran. But ask for $5.7B to secure our national sovereignty and protect the American people, and well, then you are Hitler, Mussolini, and a racist.
Yes, the liberal, progressive, biased media is President Trump’s best political asset. The folks at Media Research Center can attest to the media lies, deceit, and false narratives. Americans do not want, or like, a propagandized media. And because of the antics of the leftist media, President Trump may just see a boon in support. Americans just simply do not want to see those who are evidencing themselves to be the enemy of the American people – these fabricators and manipulators – win.
