Once upon a time, one had to try hard to convince folks of the true intentions of the progressive socialist left, not anymore. The left in America is so emboldened that they feel empowered, and no longer hide who, and what, they are. One need only look at what is transpiring in Virginia, or anywhere across America. We see the delusional and deranged nature of the left emanating from our US House of Representatives, and their hatred, as they align with the Islamic terrorists of Iran, instead of our nation.
I was recently in North Carolina to moderate the NCGOP Lt. Gov. debate. However, I must share a story out of the Tar Heel state that evidences the danger the left poses. As reported in the Bladen Journal:
“Chairwoman Louella Thompson said she’ll have law enforcement present to take action if anyone stands to say the Pledge of Allegiance at the next meeting of the Bladen County Board of Elections. Her comments were delivered at the end of a one-hour meeting that included an impromptu pledge from the majority of the audience after the board voted along party lines not to include it in the meeting’s agenda. She said the action by the audience was a disruption of the meeting, and would not be tolerated in the future, adding lawmen would be brought in.
Republicans Emery White and Michael Aycock were for it, and Thompson and fellow Democrats Deborah Belle and Patsy Sheppard each voted against.
“Being in the military, we honor the flag all the time in the military,” said White, who motioned for the pledge to be added. “I just think it should be on the agenda. There is no way we should have a meeting without it. It’s like having a prayer. Why do we object to the Pledge of Allegiance?”
Aycock seconded the motion.
After some passionate words from multiple members of the audience about adding it, and one voice against it, Daine Smith told the group if they wanted to join him he was going to lead it. More than half the room stood with him, including Board of Elections Director Chris Williams. Among those not standing was Commissioner Arthur Bullock, who when asked did stand and offer a prayer at the start of the meeting, with everyone in the room standing and bowing their heads with him.
Asked for an explanation on her vote against, Thompson said, “That’s my right, and I exercise it.” Since being seated last spring, this board has not included the pledge at its meetings. A flag has not been present but was on Tuesday, placed directly behind Thompson’s seat at the middle of the head table.”
What is happening in our America? The left wants to keep lists of those who oppose their ideological agenda, contribute to political opposition, and utilize law enforcement to strip Americans of their constitutional right, namely the Second Amendment.
Ms. Thompson sits in an elected position, she is not at will to force her ideological belief, in this case, hatred of the Pledge of Allegiance, upon others . . . with the threat of punitive action. That is called tyranny. Yes, there was a vote taken and the three Democrat (socialist) members of the board voted to not say the Pledge. Yes, elections have consequences, and this is the consequence of voting leftists into positions of power and control in America, just as we are watching in Virginia and our US House of Representatives.
What is the lesson learned here? Every election is important — yea, vital — in our America. Voter registration and turnout are imperatives. As well, we must expose the left at every turn to place pressure on them as they display their tyranny.
Yes, at the next meeting, there should be a large audience who stand in unison and recite the Pledge of Allegiance, including law enforcement officers in attendance.
Funny, the left has this insidious #Resist by-word, which is just a label for their wanton program of coercion, threat, intimidation, and violence. This is a real resistance: standing and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, organizing a large rally to send a message that we shall not be disarmed, relegated to being subjects.
The challenge is set before us, and in this year 2020, the year of clear vision, we must stand, not kneel, before the leftist mobocracy and tyranny.
Thanks, Ms. Thompson, you have awakened the people. Not just there locally, and in North Carolina, but all across our Constitutional Republic.
