Last week was one that we shall all remember for quite some time. The day before the 24th remembrance of 9-11, a stalwart young conservative champion of free speech, Charlie Kirk, was violently assassinated right before our eyes. Charlie is now welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, and mine, Jesus Christ. And we know that his shooter has been apprehended and taken into custody, where he shall be tried, judged, and sentenced for his heinous and despicable act. The death penalty is warranted, immediately.
How Did We Get Here?
But the greater question we must confront, and answer, lest we have more of this occurring, is how we got to this point? When did we go from understanding and respecting the constitutional First Amendment right of freedom of speech and expression to a rejection of such, replaced by the notion of freedom of accepted speech and expression?
Case in point, I firmly disagree with the SCOTUS ruling that burning the American flag is protected by free speech and expression. However, I am not going to go out and willfully and intentionally shoot or assault someone doing so. I would gladly step in just as Chicago outfielder Rick Monday did on April 25, 1976, and prevent someone from desecrating our American flag. I kinda have the freedom to do so, and the honor.
Shifting the Blame?
As we reflect upon the tragic shooting death of Charlie Kirk, it is time for the Marxist leftists in America to cease their delusional obfuscation, quite immature at that, in blaming others for their consistent violent actions. Yes, I said it, consistent violent actions. And history shall evidence that it is the nature of leftists to resort to coercion, threats, intimidation, fear, and ultimately violence to advance their ideology. The reason is that they do not want open discourse and debate, as Charlie Kirk offered.
They, similar to their Islamic-fascist cohorts, prefer subservience, subjugation, and totalitarian control. Debate is not a choice when your principles fail to withstand intellectual scrutiny, which is why Charlie Kirk would sit openly on college and university campuses and challenge young people to “prove me wrong.” Sadly, last Wednesday, 10 September, a leftist gave his response, not with a competent exchange of ideas, but with a bullet.
Senator Chuck Schumer should look at himself and realize that he cannot dismiss his culpability; recall he shouted and issued threats, specifically, to Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh outside the US Supreme Court. It was not too long afterwards that an assailant was apprehended near Justice Kavanaugh’s home. The week prior to Kirk’s shooting, Democrat Senator Chris Murphy claimed, “We’re in a war right now to save this country. And so you have to be willing to do whatever is necessary in order to save the country.”
How Their Ends Justify Their Means
The ends justify the means:
When Joe Biden stands up in an ominous backdrop and decries that Make America Great Again supporters are a threat to democracy, the greatest threat to America.
When a sitting president refers to Americans as garbage. When you have Barack Hussein Obama disparaging people as “clinging to their guns and religion.”
When Hillary Rodham Clinton denigrates people as being in a “basket of deplorables.”
When you designate parents as domestic terrorists because they attend school board meetings and disagree with the indoctrination of our children.
When we hear daily leftist media outlets decry the political opposition, or anyone who disagrees with them as…Hitler, Nazi, fascist.
When you have this constant and consistent drone of dehumanizing people just because they embrace our Judeo-Christian faith heritage, and you refer to them as Christian Nationalists…
Or you demean the fundamental concept of John Locke, Natural Rights theory, for which our Declaration of Independence and individual rights, freedoms and liberties are established.
Yes, this is the outcome, the shooting of a young man advocating for free speech. not the leftist notion of accepted speech.
And please, spare me the tone deaf narrative shift to the dead horse of January 6th. It is appalling to me that the Marxist left would focus so much on one day…and as Katie Couric offered, use it for political purposes. Why did the left look upon the violent “summer of love” 2020 and refer to it as “peaceful protests?”
There is nothing peaceful about entire neighborhoods being burned down, along with police precincts.
There is nothing peaceful about Antifa and BLM.
There was nothing peaceful about the ANTIFA ambush of an illegal immigration facility in Alvarado, Texas, where law enforcement agents were shot.
There is nothing peaceful about referring to ICE agents as terrorists and taking measures that target their families.
Let’s not forget the deranged Bernie Sanders supporter who shot up the GOP Congressional baseball team, nearly killing Rep. Steve Scalise. There were two assassination attempts on the life of President Donald Trump.
Empty Words
And we keep getting the same tone deaf rhetorical response from the left claiming that “we all need to tamp down the rhetoric.” And then they go right back to doing it.
I know a little bit about Marxist leftist mobs on college and university campuses. I will never forget the violent, maniacal mob of black students at the University of Buffalo. Their angst, well, it upset them that a 63-year-old black man, retired Army Lieutenant Colonel, former Member of the US House of Representatives, who was born in a segregated hospital in 1961, disagreed that America was not a racist country. Yes, I had to be escorted off the campus by police and the conservative students who attended were chased after on campus. One young white female student had to hide in the men’s bathroom.
So, please, leftists, stop with the inane call for all of us to have a kumbaya moment; you’re not being sincere, and you know it. The comments of now-fired MSNBC commentator Matthew Dowd are truly how you think. Constitutional conservatives see right through your deception and delusional obfuscation of the truth; the nature of leftism and Islamic jihadism is violence. Just as Hamas tries to play victim after brutally slaughtering babies and innocent civilians, so do leftists in America try to portray an aggrieved status when they are the ones solely guilty of consistently resorting to violence as their modus operandi.
You killed Charlie Kirk, but you inspired new generations. His legacy will grow and live on, while the memory of the tyranny of Marxist leftism in America will die. Go ahead, elect Marxists, communists, and jihadists like Zohran Mamdani and Omar Fateh. Celebrate terrorist supporters like Rashida Tlaib. We, the time-honored patriots of this great Constitutional Republic, will not be silent. In honor of Charlie Kirk, we shall be more relentless in advocating for our freedom of speech and will confront you on the battleground of ideals and intellectual debate, where you will suffer electoral defeat.
