I wrote the book, Hold Texas, Hold the Nation: Victory or Death to show the very apparent demographic and ideological shift happening in the Lone Star State. And, if the fate of Texas is to be the same as in Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Houston . . . we will not hold the nation.
For me, I find it utterly perplexing as to how the thinking, policies, of progressive socialism, can take root in any economically successful conservative state. But, the “Lot effect” is in full bloom. What do I mean? Well, consider the only instruction God gave to Lot and his family as they fled the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah was “don’t look back.” Lot’s wife did, and she was turned into a pillar of salt on the spot.
There is a definite migration of people from failing progressive socialist states, California, Illinois, New York, and New Jersey come to mind. Some of those departing are looking forward, ahead, and realize why they are leaving our modern-day versions of Sodom and Gomorrah. Others are leaving and still look back, and bring with them their failed policies, ideology, principles, and values.
See, the greatest export from California is not wine, avocados, or any other commodity which can be used for a constructive purpose. California’s most detrimental export is progressive socialism, and those who leave there to only transfer the cancer elsewhere are the embodiment of Einstein’s definition of insanity.
And the craziness has hit Texas.
As reported by the Corpus Christi Caller Times:
“An openly gay freshman member of the Texas House late Thursday derailed a bill backed by religious conservatives but denounced by opponents as a tool to target the LGBT community for discrimination.
“Hopefully, this is the day of discrimination against the LGBT community dies in Texas,” said State Rep. Julie Johnson, D-Carrollton (suburb of Dallas), after using a procedural maneuver to shut down debate of the so-called “Save Chick-Fil-A” bill before it began.
At issue was House Bill 3172 by Fort Worth Republican Matt Krause that sought to prohibit cities and other governmental entities from taking “adverse actions” against businesses that publicly espouse religious convictions. The measure came in response to a decision by the city of San Antonio to deny Chick-Fil-A vendor space in its airport because of the fast-food chain’s vocal opposition to same-sex marriage.
The faith-based lobby Texas Values had organized a “save Chick-Fil-A” rally at the Texas Capitol last month. It also stationed members and supporters of the organization outside the House chamber this week, encouraging members to vote for the measure.
As it turned out, House members never got the chance. No sooner did Krause step to the rostrum to explain his bill, Johnson interrupted him with what in parliamentary terms is called a “point of order,” questioning whether all House rules were followed as the measure made its way through the legislative mill.
After consulting with House parliamentarians, Speaker Dennis Bonnen struck down Johnson’s point. But she was ready with another — this one asserting that the official analysis of the bill’s implication was misleading. Again, Bonnen huddled with the parliamentarians on his high perch at the head of the chamber. Lawmakers from both sides crowded to watch the deliberations, which lasted several minutes. As the huddle broke up, signaling that a decision had been reached, Johnson — a member of the House LGBTQ Caucus — could be seen pumping her fist as she stepped down on her way back to her seat on the House floor. Bonnen then announced that the second point of order was valid.
The ruling effectively killed the measure because Thursday was the deadline for preliminary passing of the House bill before the 2019 legislative session ends May 27.”
This is yet another example of the progressive socialist left tactic of economic terrorism. There is another example of such playing out in my birth state of Georgia. Now, it is happening right here in my home State of Texas.
Think about it: if you do not bow down to the “religion of the left” — which includes same-sex marriage, wealth redistribution, gun control (confiscation), the murder of unborn, and born, babies, and climate change — you will be punished.
Colorado used to be a strong red state, but thanks to the migration of the “stuck on stupid” from California, it is now a blue state ruled by the major metropolitan areas of Denver and Boulder (home of the University of Colorado). It is the same state where a Christian businessman, a simple baker, Jack Phillips, had to go before the US Supreme Court when the radical gay lobby supported by the tyrannical progressive socialist left sought to destroy his livelihood, as they had done in Oregon to Aaron and Melissa Klein.
And so it is happening in Texas. A successful Christian food chain — started in my hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, how interesting — is now the target of the radical gay lobby and progressive socialists in Texas. Yes, the Lone Star state. Perhaps we could understand such a thing happening in NYC or Chicago, but having Chick-fil-A attacked, shut down in San Antonio and in the State legislature of Texas, well, now you see why I wrote the book.
The left is sending a clear message to us all. They demand ideological domination, surrender, complete acquiescence. It kinda reminds me of the militant Islamists, the jihadists, who demand, as articulated in the Hadiths, traditions of Mohammed, conversion, subjugation, or death. Perhaps this is why the progressive socialists and Islamists find such comfort as they are aligned in their objectives, tyrannical domination, and will use threats, coercion, intimidation, mandates, and violence to achieve those ends.
We now have elected officials in Texas, yes, Texas, who have embraced the idea that their agenda, beliefs, override an established individual constitutional right . . . the freedom of religion and the free exercise thereof. No! No, they are saying, you cannot hold any faith belief that is contrary to ours, meaning you cannot believe in traditional marriage between one man and one woman. If you do, the progressive socialist left will enact every manner of direct punishment, to include this economic terrorism against a viable private sector business, Hobby Lobby had to endure the same before the Supreme Court fighting against Obamacare’s contraceptive mandate.
Here’s the deal, folks: if you do not like Christian principles and Chick-fil-A’s support for traditional marriage, then do not eat there. That is what the free market is all about. But, to explicitly target a business for its fundamental principles, values, and beliefs, well, that ain’t American, it is totalitarian. It goes right along with what the little tyrant Barack Hussein Obama once asserted, “you must punish your political enemies.”
Damn, really, this is happening in Texas, but you can bet your bottom dollar, it will cause an uprising against these deranged, delusional, and dangerous socialists. They are indeed “out” of their ideological closet and are exposing to us all exactly who they are.
In the end, Chick-fil-A will only grow stronger. But what is more important, the progressive socialist left is going to suffer a crushing defeat come next year. It is obvious that the Democrat (socialist) Party poses a threat to the very fabric of the American way of life, our fundamental individual rights. You know, those first ten amendments to our Constitution referred to as the Bill of Rights. The left is expressing to us all that we do not have freedom of religion, speech, expression, the right to petition our government for a redress of grievances, nor to keep and bear arms, which shall not be infringed since those unalienable rights are not in agreement with their ideological agenda.
For the left, rights are defined by what they believe in and accept: free healthcare, free college, freedom to murder unborn children, equality of outcomes, economic enslavement (dependency), and open borders and wanton criminal illegal immigration. Their espoused rights are all about their electoral gain, power, control, and domination. They have nothing to do with your individual freedoms.
Dang it, the progressive socialist left does not like Chick-fil-A, so their answer is to keep you from eating at Chick-fil-A . . . meaning destroy their business. So, I make this commitment: I will be eating at a Chick-fil-A at least once a week, every week, henceforth. It is my simple way of pissing off the progressive socialist left, and the radical gay lobby. There are those of us who will always define, and embrace, marriage as a sacred union of man and woman. I support civil unions. I, and others have a right to believe as we wish. And we also have the right to eat where we wish. The CEO of Levi Strauss has come out and stated that he is anti-Second Amendment. I do not want Levi’s jeans to be put out of business, I just ain’t wearing them.
My message to Texas State Representative Julie Johnson and the San Antonio City Council is that you don’t have to eat at Chick-fil-A. But, do not seek to deny us from having that right.
Then again, progressive socialists have an appetite for controlling our lives.
