With the great news of today that the remaining 20 living hostages have been returned to Israel, released by the evil and largely defeated Hamas terrorist organization, the joy and relief are tempered by sorrow and anger, and buoyed by hope and optimism that this marks a true turning point in Middle East history.

I am very hopeful that this deal is going to largely succeed. But I also recognize that there’s an excellent chance that once the hostages are exchanged for nearly 2,000 prisoners held by Israel, approximately 250 of whom are under life sentences, and 1,700 who have been detained because of their actions on Oct. 7, 2023 and their actions in the service of Hamas since that date, the rest of the peace plan may never come to fruition.

Daniel Greenfield, someone for whom I have great respect, lays out the many problems built into this 20-point peace plan that President Trump orchestrated, and the reasons that the plan may bog down after Stage 1, the outrageous swap of terrorist prisoners for innocent hostages. For instance, Greenfield points out, the plan calls for Gaza to become a deradicalized terror free zone. Can that actually happen? No, not a chance.

This commentary by Greenfield is definitely worth your time.

He also has a new article out on Front Page Magazine, where he is a regular contributor and the CEO of the David Horowitz Freedom Center. The article, How Antisemitism Turned CBS Against the Left, provides some illuminating background on how it evolved that Bari Weiss, formerly of the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, and more recently her own media venture, The Free Press, became Editor in Chief of CBS News while her venture was bought by Paramount for about $150 million.
