Xi and the CCP’s New Focus: Attacking America
In 2018, Xi Jinping’s pledge to reclaim Taiwan significantly bolstered his standing within the CCP. Consequently, in March 2018, the CCP amended its constitution to abolish presidential term limits, granting Xi the potential for lifetime presidency. These changes solidified Xi’s grip on power and shifted the CCP towards a more authoritarian governance model.
It was also in 2018, Xi and the CCP top layer became confident in its immense power, perceiving itself formidable enough in all arenas, including military, economy, technology, energy, manufacturing, media, culture, infrastructure, diplomatic alliances to defeat America. This fueled aspirations to disrupt the post-World War II international order, which had long been dominated by America. The CCP aimed to establish a new order with China at its center, seeking to redefine international norms. Ever since then, Xi and the CCP has shifted their goal to primarily attack the United States in pursuit of the so-called ““Chinese Dream”, which refers to rule the world in the form of the communism.
The CCP Gloated Over President Trump’s Leave in 2021
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) harbors significant apprehension towards President Donald Trump, primarily due to his initiation of the trade war during his first term, which marked a decisive shift in U.S.-China relations. This economic strategy not only imposed tariffs on Chinese goods but also aimed to curb CCP’s technological advances and economic influence globally. Trump’s unpredictable actions further exacerbate the CCP’s fears; his unconventional decision-making and willingness to disrupt established norms leave the CCP uncertain about future.
The CCP’s fear is obvious in a short commentary released by its mouthpiece Xinhua agency on Jan. 21, 2021 (新华微评：别了，特朗 , which goes: “Xinhua Mini-commentary: Farewell, Trump”.
On January 20, Trump stepped down, leaving behind a gloomy shadow. Time serves as the most impartial witness. Over the past four years, the world did not witness America Made Great Again; on contrast, the world witnessed many self-willed, erratic actions of disrupting agreements and withdrawing from international organizations, as well as frequent trade sanctions, the heartbreaking cry of ‘I can’t breathe,’ the staggering toll of over 400,000 COVID-19 deaths in the U.S., and the terrifying images of the Capitol Hill being ‘invaded.’
The ‘beacon’ is collapsing, and the tale of the ‘the highest mountain’ is shattering. Right or wrong, success or failure, history and public opinion will make the judgements. We are well aware that the world is not at peace, and the turmoil will persist. However, regardless of how the history unfolds, those who swim against the current will ultimately be eliminated, and the tide will inevitably move forward with time.”
The CCP Confronts President Trump in the Second Term
Apparently the CCP was clueless that 78-year-old President Trump could return to the White House four years later. This time, the CCP cunningly broadcasted that Trump’s re-election signifies “a new starting point for US- China”, which goes:
“China and America must ‘mutually benefit each other’ to achieve a win-win situation, Trump is a businessman and his focus is money. After he enters the second term, he must build a successful economy in a few months and show it to the world. How could he achieve this goal? The only way is to collaborate with China. For instance, Biden banned selling chips to China, then where could chip-makers find new buyers? The chips are unsalable now. Trump is a shrewd businessman; he knows China will be the best buyer and best partner…”
Such CCP narratives take advantage of the differences between two American political parties to divide America. This is CCP’s typical tactic to win by creating internal conflicts within enemies.
There are also other narratives, such as:
· “China has made a bigger cake for America to share…China is inviting America to share together…”
· “China not only could help Russia, but also America…”
· “China does not yield; Rubio has knelt down…”
The drama is still unfolding day after day. Americans must remain clear-minded and act wisely. No matter how the situation changes, the evil nature of the CCP and its wicked agenda will not.
